Accommodation

Accommodation options are available both on double occupancy and single occupancy within 3 to 5 minute walking distance from the hospital. Single occupancy rate is $1250 and double occupancy at $850. Once you have paid the Rotation fee, and the accommodation fees we will connect you to the landlord.

Description of the Rotation

Operating Room (OR) Experience
  • Students will attend all scheduled surgeries in the hospital’s OR.
  • Daily close interaction with the Chief of Surgery.
  • Participation in pre-operative preparation and patient evaluations on the floor.
  • Observation of bedside procedures such as central line insertions.
 
Outpatient Clinic Exposure
  • Outpatient clinics are held 1–2 times per week, each lasting around 4 hours.
 
Surgical Academic Activities

Students will participate in:

  • Surgery seminars
  • Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) conferences
  • Additional didactics, lectures, and grand rounds as required
 
Clinical Responsibilities

While working as part of the surgical team, students will:

  • Interact with diverse patients
  • Take detailed patient histories
  • Perform physical examinations
  • Review labs, imaging, and clinical notes
  • Develop differential diagnoses
  • Create assessment and treatment plans (under supervision)
  • Follow up daily on patients under their care
  • Participate in discharge planning and execution
 
Learning Experience Overview

This rotation offers a unique, hands-on surgical learning experience for medical graduates committed to becoming strong and effective residents. It is designed to prepare international medical graduates (IMGs) for the US clinical environment through real clinical exposure under the supervision of a teaching attending physician.

Letter of Recommendation

At the end of the rotation, students may request a performance-based Letter of Recommendation (LOR) on official hospital letterhead.
