Accommodation

Accommodation options are available both on double occupancy and single occupancy within 3 to 5 minute walking distance from the hospital. Single occupancy rate is $1250 and double occupancy at $850. Once you have paid the Rotation fee, and the accommodation fees we will connect you to the landlord.

Description of the Rotation

Clinical Duties

You will see pediatric patients with common day-to-day concerns and ensure their vaccinations, milestones, growth, and development are up to date. Whenever there are pediatric inpatients or newborns in the hospital nursery, you will visit and assess them as part of your responsibilities.

Rotation Schedule
  • Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a lunch break.
  • Saturdays: Optional; students may attend once a month for additional experience.
  • Schedule Changes: Timings may vary depending on the attending physician’s schedule.

Students may also be required to attend didactics, lectures, and grand rounds, with details shared by the attending at the start of the rotation.

Hands-On Experience

This is a fully hands-on rotation with access to the EMR system, including note-writing and documentation under the supervision of the physician.

Learning Opportunities

You will work with a diverse range of patients with various disorders and learn their evaluation, diagnosis, and management.
Key learning components include:

  • Using the clinic EMR system
  • Entering clinical notes
  • Understanding the U.S. healthcare system
  • Working under a teaching attending physician

This rotation is designed to prepare international medical graduates (IMGs) for the US medical system through real clinical exposure.

Professional Development

At the end of the 4-week rotation, students may request a performance-based Letter of Recommendation on official hospital letterhead.

Clinical Skills Development

During the rotation, you will learn to:

  • Interact with diverse patients
  • Perform detailed history taking and physical examinations
  • Review labs, imaging, and clinical notes
  • Formulate differential diagnoses
  • Create and carry out management plans under supervision
  • Participate in discharge planning

Payment & Refund Policy

Please review the payment and cancellation terms carefully:

  • Full payment is due 6 weeks before the rotation start date
  • 50% refund if the rotation is canceled before 4 weeks of the start date
  • No refund if the rotation is canceled within 4 weeks of the start date
