Accommodation

Accommodation options are available both on double occupancy and single occupancy within 3 to 5 minute walking distance from the hospital. Single occupancy rate is $1250 and double occupancy at $850. Once you have paid the Rotation fee, and the accommodation fees we will connect you to the landlord.

Description of the Rotation

Hospital In-Patient Rounds
  • Daily morning rounds
  • Monday – Friday: Approximately 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., depending on the attending’s schedule
  • Rounds typically take place in:
  • ICU
  • Critical Care
  • Intermediate Care
  • Internal Medicine floors

Students may also choose to participate on Saturdays and Sundays. Timings are subject to change based on the attending physician.

Outpatient Clinic Exposure
  • 1–2 clinic sessions per week
  • Each session lasts roughly 4 hours
 
Bedside Procedures Observed

Students will have the opportunity to observe various clinical procedures, including:

  • Endotracheal intubation
  • Intercostal drain placement
  • Paracentesis
  • Bedside hemodiafiltration
  • Fiber-optic bronchoscopy
  • CPR and Code Blue management
  • Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) sampling
 
Clinical Responsibilities

Rotating students will:

  • Work closely with residents in managing patient care
  • Coordinate with nurses and other subspecialties
  • Attend didactics, lectures, and grand rounds
  • Interact with diverse patients
  • Perform detailed history taking and physical examinations
  • Review labs, imaging, and clinical notes
  • Formulate differential diagnoses and develop assessment/treatment plans under supervision
  • Follow up daily on assigned patients
  • Participate in discharge planning and patient education
 
Overall Experience

This rotation provides a unique learning opportunity for medical graduates aspiring to become effective and successful residents.
It is specifically designed to prepare international medical graduates (IMGs) for the U.S. clinical environment through supervised hands-on experience. Upon completion of the rotation, students may request a performance-based Letter of Recommendation (LOR) on hospital letterhead.
