Description of the Rotation

When you are on service, you’ll be rounding with the Attending Physician in the clinic, the Hospital Cardiac Catheter Lab, and the ECHO and Stress lab. It is an enriching hands-on experience taking histories and physicals, evaluating patients, forming your assessment and plan independently, and then presenting to the attending physician. The LOR will be performance- based in IM or Cardiology (whatever you prefer).

Students may also be required to attend didactics, lectures, and grand rounds. As a team member, you will observe interaction with diverse patients, learn history-taking and physical examination skills, assess labs, integrate labs in the case for assessment, and plan discussions with the attending physician. The students will follow up on all patients under their care daily and under the attending physician's direction.

This is a unique learning experience for medical graduates committed to becoming effective, successful residents. This clinical initiative is designed to prepare foreign medical graduates (IMGs) for the US clinical environment by providing them with hands-on clinical experience. You will have the experience as a clinical learner under the supervision of a teaching attending physician.
