Professor of Medicine & Faculty at JPH Hospital Medical Centre & Program Director & Chairman of Cardiology rotation at Insight Hospital Medical Centre. Affiliated Institutions: Jackson Park Hospital Medical Centre (Affiliated with University of Illinois College of Medicine – UIC), Roseland Franklin University, and Mount Sinai Hospital, Chicago, Illinois.

This is a hospital-based, inpatient hands-on Internal Medicine/ICU rotation with some observational experiences. Students gain comprehensive exposure to cardiology, internal medicine, and oncologic conditions through daily rounds and clinics.

Morning rounds Monday to Friday, approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (timings subject to change based on attending physician's schedule).
Includes: Jackson Park Hospital rounds almost daily, 1–2 outpatient clinics per week, Oncology Center rounds at Insight Hospital Medical Center.
Optional Saturday hours available for interested students.

Monday: Rounds at Insight Hospital Cardiology rotation Center, Jackson Park Hospital, or Clinic — Timing: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Tuesday: Rounds at Insight Hospital Cardiology rotation Center, Jackson Park Hospital, or Clinic — Timing: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Wednesday: Hospital rounds at Jackson Park Hospital and/or Clinic — Timing: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Thursday: Rounds at Jackson Park Hospital and/or Clinic — Timing: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Friday: Hospital rounds at Insight or Jackson Park Hospital and/or Clinic — Timing: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Note: All timings are subject to change based on the attending physician’s schedule.

Outpatient clinics 1–2 times weekly (approx. 4 hours each).
Evaluate Internal Medicine patients when requested.
Close interaction with Residents, Residency program staff & faculty, Nursing staff.
Participate in patient management discussions and care coordination.
Observation of chemotherapy infusions at the Infusion Center at Insight Hospital Medical Center.
Exposure to diverse hematologic and oncologic conditions and their diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
Evaluation of EKGs, ECHO, and management of stress tests.

Interact with diverse patient populations
Perform detailed histories and physical examinations
Review labs, imaging, and EMR notes
Formulate differential diagnoses
Create assessment and treatment plans under attending supervision
Follow up on all assigned patients daily
Participate in discharge planning and patient care coordination

Students may be required to attend: Didactics, Lectures, Grand Rounds.

This rotation provides a valuable and comprehensive learning experience for medical graduates aiming to become strong residents. It is specifically crafted to prepare international medical graduates (IMGs) for the U.S. clinical environment through hands-on experience.

At the end of the 4-week rotation, students may request a performance-based Letter of Recommendation (LOR) on official hospital letterhead.

LOR Type: Hospital letterhead, Chairman of Cardiology. Individualized LOR will be given based on performance/sincerity and attendance.

Full payment is due 6 weeks before the rotation start date.
You can also pay the entire rotation fee at the start without putting a deposit down.
50% of the amount will be refunded if rotation is canceled before 4 weeks of the start date.
No refunds after that (within 4 weeks of start date).

Optional Saturday hours available for interested students to enhance clinical exposure.
